, west virginia this morning, weatherwatchers reporting it in the 50s to near 60 there. and around virginia's tide water and the lower eastern shore in the upper 60s. over the last 12 hours the storms have dissipated and a weak area of high pressure holding for us from maine down to georgia. and we'll have this dry pattern, and the excessive heat continuing tay and tomorrow. now today's record is 98. we probably won't be near that. but likely near or perhaps exceed the record tomorrow, which is at 94. and then on saturday, a dry front coming through, we'll usher in a shift in our wind. that will bring in some cooler air om the north and winds shift into the east on sunay with some clouds rolling in. small chance of a shower and much cooler. >> time to take a live look at this hour on the maryland side. capitol beltway near route four. pretty quiet, just down the road on the beltway, route 5 on the inner loop, wo offant accident where authorities are headed over right now. pop over to virginia, right now on the capital beltway, just off the springfield interchange we're okay. this i
. and then during the morning hours on friday, it will be east of virginia beach, perhaps right around 8:00 on friday morning. and then by noon time just east of ocean city, by 2:00 p.m. friday just off of cape may new jersey, and even though the center of circumstance hags will be off the coast, the tropical storm force winds will certainly be felt right along the atlantic beaches and then affecting new england. look at all the tropical storm watches and warnings that are up. this is a hurricane warning, this red zone around the outer banks from virginia beach all the way town through north carolina. farther to the north, this is a hurricane watch for our atlantic beaches along the shore of the -- from delaware all the way down through virginia shore line, that is a hurricane watch. and the likely effects from the storm, very wet ocean city on friday with tropical bands of heavy rain coming in. tropical storm force winds. for us this morning, we have temperatures around the region in the 70s. 77 in washington, and beef got a huge area of high pressure, so plenty of sunshine today. we'll

three days. heads-up in northern virginia. a new traffic pattern in place a a busy intersection in ty >>> crime alert. eight people have been shot over the weekend in ward 4 in the district. this violence began just after midnight on friday with one person shot in the 600 block of longfellow streetnorthwest. fewer than five hours later, a woman was caught in gunfi near 9th and deindicator street. four people shot on satuay night in the 700 block of sheprd. that's about a block away from a police substation. two people were shot in the 100 block of kennedy street northwest before sunrise. we have checked with d.c. police and they say they do not know of any arrest in y shootings. >>> police on the hunt for a person who murdered a 21-year-old woman in the district. this happened around 3:30 yesterday morning along bruce place. ashley mccray is the young woman in the far right in this picture. it was takent the georgetown store worked. th found the 21-year-old inside a car early saturday morning where she had been shot. she was rushed to the hospital where shwas pronounced dead. >> every

in virginia are warning people who use onine dating sites this morning after they say a woman was sexually assaulted by a man she met online. according to the loudoun county sheriff's office, 34-year-old john evans met the 37-year-old victim on the site back in june. in july she went to his home where officials say he held her against her will, and sexually assaulted her. sheriff's investigators are now concerned this woman was not evans' first victim. >> a situation like this, it's the same as someone who's been scammed. they don't want the embarrassment of someone knowing they've been scammed so they don't say anything. that's how these perpetrators continue to get by with their crimes. they don't come forward. if anybody is familiar with this person we'd certainly like to hear from them. >> eharmony released a statement saying it's, quote, deeply saddened to hr about this terrible incident. the website also said it immediately closed evans' account and notified all of his matches not to communicate with him. >>> the company that hires metro access drivers is taking a closer look at how
